On May 17, 2023, a series of events took place dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Representatives of the Russian Federation, the Republic of South Ossetia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Belarus took part in the festive events.

The events began with the laying of flowers at the Memorial to the people of Abkhazia who died in the Patriotic War of 1992-1993. Further, a solemn meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was held in the conference hall of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The congratulatory speeches were delivered to the guests by: Aslan Bzhaniya, President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Sergey Shamba, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, Mikhail Shurgalin Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velasquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia concurrently, Alexei Sinegubov, Deputy Director of the Fourth Department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry who read out a message of greeting from Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Russian Federation, as well as Harry Kupalba, the Official Representative of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia and others.

Within the framework of the meeting, a solemn ceremony of presenting anniversary medals “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia is 30 years old” was held for a special contribution to the formation and development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of the meeting, the meeting of invited guests with Aleko Gvaramia, the Rector of ASU took place at the Abkhaz State University, and an open lecture was held, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the RA MFA.

Further, the Global Abkhazia forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened its work in the Media Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia. The President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya took part in the forum.

In addition, a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was held within the walls of the Cabinet of Ministers.
