The 9th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia is celebrated today.
September 9, 2008 opened the new chapter in the history of bilateral relations and greatly contributed to bringing friendship and cooperation between the two countries to the new highest level.
Our states have managed to find mutually acceptable solutions on many issues of the bilateral agenda to achieve important results on the path of strengthening the strategic partnership for the time that have passed since the establishment of the diplomatic relations. An unprecedented level of mutual trust and understanding has been achieved; it allowed to solve topical issues for both countries and most if all it opened the possibilities for moving forward to establish multilateral ties in various fields.
The Republic of Abkhazia together with the Russian Federation intends to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation in all areas in the spirit of sincere friendship and promote the full disclosure of the potential for the development of Abkhaz-Russian interaction.
We are convinced that the systematic and fruitful Russian-Abkhaz dialogue will find the strong continuation in the continuous process of deepening and progressive building up of mutually beneficial contacts.
