On February 21, on the birthday of the legendary Abkhazian writer and poet, founder of Abkhazian literature Dimitriy Gulia, a ceremony of laying flowers was held at his monument. The Foreign Minister of Abkhazia together with heads of ministries and departments, creative and scientific intellectuals honored memory of the great Abkhazian writer and poet.
Dimitriy Iosifovich Gulia (1874-1960) is the outstanding figure of Abkhazian culture, the founder of national literature, the national poet of Abkhazia, the prominent public figure, the founder of Abkhazian literature and writing.
