On March 29, the opening of the multifunctional Media Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia took place. 

The event was attended by President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, Minister of Foreign Affairs Inal Ardzinba, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia Maxim Litvinov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, Head of the Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia Garry Kupalba, special guests of the event Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya international news agency, RT TV channel, and Tigran Keosayan, film director, actor, TV host, producer. 

In his welcoming speech, Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba noted that the main task of the Media Center is to regulate the information policy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the current conditions of a changing world. “We very much hope to intensify this work with our colleagues from Russia so that the significance of Abkhazia becomes even greater,” he stressed. 

The President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, in his address wished the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs further success in the development and operation of the new media center and expressed the hope that from the moment the media center was opened, the image of our country would be brought to a large audience in a more positive way. 

Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the RT TV channel, also spoke at the opening ceremony. She confirmed her readiness to provide assistance in setting up the work of the new structure: "We will be happy to take part in this process." 

In his speech, film director Tigran Keosayan noted that it is very important to promote information about Abkhazia: “We are talking about the younger generation, which needs to be told that we are part of one culture, one space.” 

The Media Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia will work with the support of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as key Russian news agencies.
