On August 24, 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Iraklii Tuzhba held a working meeting with members of the public involved in organizing events dedicated to the International Day of the Disappeared.

The meeting was attended by:

Secretary of the Public Chamber, Chairman of the movement "Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice" Guli Kichba;

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC);

Head of the Department for Youth and Sports of the Administration of Sukhum Elza Khagba;

Head of the Sukhum Youth House Elena Kobakhia;

Representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Abkhazia.

During the meeting, the participants discussed organizational issues related to holding events dedicated to the International Day of the Disappeared.

International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, also known as Missing Persons Day, is commemorated on August 30 of each year.
