On August 23, 2023, a concert dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the State sovereignty of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation was held at the State Philharmonic.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Abkhazia, the event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Odyssey Bigvava, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Viktoria Malania, the Head of the Department for Latin America, Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region Madina Zukhba and the officer of the Department for Cooperation with International Organizations Sariya Dzhopua.

Schoolchildren from all regions of Abkhazia presented a program in which each region introduced the audience to the culture of countries that recognized the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia.

As part of the event, Maxim Litvinov, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia, also congratulated the people of Abkhazia on Independence Day in the Abkhaz language.

“Dear friends, from the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the 15th anniversary of the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia. In 2008, my country, Russia, had a great opportunity to be the first to pay tribute to the exploits of the Abkhazian people. By recognizing the independence of Abkhazia, Russia has found a reliable friend, therefore, without exaggeration, August 26 is our holiday just like yours. We are very pleased to see the young generation of independent Abkhazia.
