The meeting of Inal Ardzinba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia with representatives of the Council of Young Diplomats was held at the Media Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.
The meeting was also attended by Maxim Gvindzhia, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia for International Affairs.
In his welcoming speech, Inal Ardzinba, Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that the Council of Young Diplomats is an important tool for establishing and expanding contacts with young diplomats from other countries. The head of the Foreign Ministry called the development of relations with the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation as a priority.
Inal Ardzinba expressed hope for the intensification of joint work in the implementation of various projects and noted the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia to provide maximum support in this.
The Foreign Minister told the students about the activities of the Center "The Future of Abkhazia", which is actively working on the basis of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation. Young people can apply to the Center, where, on a competitive basis, they will be provided with unique opportunities in the field of education, in particular, admission to leading Russian higher educational institutions, internships, advanced training programs and temporary employment in Russia.
Inal Ardzinba also emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia provides members of the Council of Young Diplomats with the opportunity to undergo internships through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Roscongress Foundation.
“The Roscongress Foundation, established by decision of the President of the Russian Federation, organizes key discussion platforms. In Moscow, we had a meeting with Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, who is coordinating this activity. In this sense, there will be full support for the youth of Abkhazia,” he said.
The head of the country's foreign ministry announced the building of cooperation with the educational center "Sirius". “We are preparing a meeting on the topic of international cooperation of young leaders in the field of information technology. This is also a very important direction. Let's look for talented Abkhazian programmers together. Maybe there will be few of them, but you can create a small working group,” he stressed.
Inal Ardzinba informed the CYD members about the planned holding of the International Forum on the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Sukhum this year, to which representatives of the UN, the Russian Federation, other CIS countries, Italy and a number of other states will be invited. He called on the Council of Young Diplomats to take an active part in organizing this event. Inal Ardzinba wished successful and active work to the members of the Council of Ministers.
“I often communicate with young people in Abkhazia. We see and know what a difficult situation is in the Republic, and often I see faded looks and lowered hands. But I think we all need to get together. Purposefulness and unbending will should be our attitudes. Everything will work out great for us!” the Minister said in conclusion.
In turn, the students told the Minister about the projects in which they take part, shared their ideas about involving the youth of Abkhazia in various educational programs and projects.
The Council of Young Diplomats to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was established by decree of Vyacheslav Chirikba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia on April 17, 2014. By tradition, the Council includes young employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia and students of the Abkhaz State University (ASU).
