On the Abkhaz-Russian ministerial consultations

As agreed during recent talks of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia D.V. Kove with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, on November 30 2016, bilateral ministerial consultations were held in Moscow.

The Abkhaz delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia O.N. Arshba and the Russian side was presented by the Director of the Fourth CIS States Department A.V. Pavlovsky.

The consultations, which were frank and businesslike, were attended by the heads of departments of the two ministries.

A wide range of topics was on agenda. In particular, consular issues, ways to enhance the Abkhaz-Russian cooperation at the regional level were thoroughly discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the improvement of foreign policy cooperation between the two countries, including in order to further expand the international position of the Republic of Abkhazia.

It was agreed to give a regular character to this format that will contribute to the further successful implementation of the Memorandum between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, and the Russian Foreign Ministry on the mechanism of implementation of a coordinated foreign policy of 11 March 2015.
