The head of the Information and Analytical Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Timur Shanava, took part in the work of the round table "Strengthening of NATO's Military Presence in the Black Sea Region. National security of the Republic of Abkhazia." The event was held at the Abkhaz State University.

Famous Abkhaz political and public figures, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia, the 7th Russian military base in the Republic of Abkhazia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, the State Security Service, cadets of SVOKU, police schools and students took part in the round table.

Participants of the round table discussed in detail the issues of the military-political situation in the Black Sea region, aspects of the strategic partnership between Abkhazia and Russia, new challenges related to the intensification of military cooperation between Georgia and NATO and other topical issues.

The head of the Information and Analytical Department Timur Shanava highlighted a number of issues related to the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, in particular, within the framework of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia. It was noted that the issues of regional security and activation of military cooperation between Georgia and NATO are regularly raised by representatives of the Abkhaz delegation, and that the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry pays close attention to this issue.
