On December 4, 2021 the presentation "The Republic of Abkhazia in the international diplomatic system" was held in the Italian city of Lamezia-Terme.

The event was attended by more than 80 people, including Paolo Mascaro, the Mayor of Lamezia Terme, Matteo Dall'Osso, the deputy of the Italian parliament, members of the City Council, local businessmen and journalists, as well as Tamila Mertskhulava, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Abkhazia and Vito Grittani and Kan Tania, Ambassadors- at-Large of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry.

Paolo Mascaro, the Mayor in his speech noted: “We are talking about the expression of the will of the people of a small republic from the point of view of the population, but rich in natural beauty and with a huge potential of development. We are very close to the idea of self-determination; we have it in our DNA. I hope we will establish a lasting partnership for the benefit of our societies. ”

At the event, the work of Vito Grittani, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia was especially noted, thanks to whom the official representation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia was opened in the city of Bari. As a result of fruitful cooperation, more than 45 agreements were signed.

A voluminous report was made by Kan Tania, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, who is responsible for the work of the Diplomatic Mission in Italy and the EU countries.
The presentation aroused great interest among the guests and clearly demonstrated that Abkhazia, despite all the difficulties, is a state open to mutually beneficial cooperation.
