The Foreign Minister of Abkhazia held a meeting with representatives of the group of participants of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia from the European Union

On November 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia hosted a regular meeting with the representatives of a group of participants of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia from the European Union Bjorn Kuene and Martha Freeman.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Kan Tania and Head of Information Department of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia Tengiz Tarba.

At the beginning of the meeting Bjorn Kuene congratulated Daur Kove on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet and discuss issues of mutual interest.

At the meeting was discussed the issue of the European visa policy with regard to citizens of Abkhazia. The point was also on the negotiations in the framework of the IPRM, which takes place in the town of Gal.

Daur Kove noted that the unfounded refusals to issue visas to citizens of Abkhazia by the majority of EU countries are discriminatory and go against the declared European values. He also added that it is necessary to make every effort to change the situation in this regard.

At the meeting was also discussed the agenda of the upcoming 38th Round of the Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in the Transcaucasia, scheduled for 13-14 December 2016.
