Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia took part in the opening ceremony of an international conference to facilitate the return of the Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons who were forced to leave Syria as a result of the conflict.

The conference is attended by the diplomats from twenty countries as well as the representatives of the international organizations.

The development of the necessary mechanisms for the return home of the internally displaced Syrians and the search for solutions to the problems that arise are the agenda of the conference.

The leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic issued an official appeal to all Syrian citizens who left the country as a result of the conflict to return to their historical homeland. The Syrian authorities are ready to provide all returning refugees with the necessary conditions to ensure a safe and dignified life in the republic.

Approximately 6.5 million Syrians are forced to stay outside the country at the moment.
