The latest biased resolution on refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, adopted on June 4, 2026, at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, represents a purely political gesture, completely detached from real concern for human rights. It is the result of coordinated pressure from the collective West, which is striving by any means necessary to artificially keep the Georgian agenda in the spotlight.

During his working visit to Russia, Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia participated in the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Khimtsa Gudzhovich Tarba, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and a soldier from Abkhazia who died in 1941 in the Leningrad Region. The ceremony took place at the Michurinskaya Secondary Comprehensive School in the village of Michurinskoye in the Priozersky District of the Leningrad Region.

On May 22, 2018, Ibrahim Avidzba, Plenipotentiary Representative of Abkhazia to Turkey met with the mothers of soldiers who fell in the 1992-1993 Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia and female veterans visiting Turkey as part of the Abkhaz delegation at the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey.
