The latest biased resolution on refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, adopted on June 4, 2026, at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, represents a purely political gesture, completely detached from real concern for human rights. It is the result of coordinated pressure from the collective West, which is striving by any means necessary to artificially keep the Georgian agenda in the spotlight.

On June 4, 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia between Deputy Foreign Minister Odissei Bigvava and the Co-Chairs of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Transcaucasia: UN Co-Chair Khaled Khiari, EU Co-Chair Magdalena Grono, and OSCE Co-Chair Christoph Ernst Špäti.

On May 30–31, a major international conference, "The End of 500 Years of Colonialism: Toward a Dialogue of Civilizations" is taking place in Berlin. The conference is dedicated to discussing the formation of a new international security and development architecture, strengthening equitable dialogue among civilizations, and the role of countries in the emerging world order.

Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia congratulated Akhsar Dzhioev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia on the Day of Adoption of the Act of Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia has drawn attention to recent public statements by Georgia's top political leadership and clergy during the commemorative events in Tbilisi. These repeated declarations of "impending unification" and "reconciliation" couched in peaceful rhetoric, may appear to outside observers and the international community as a desire for peace. However, in Abkhazia, these veiled statements are perceived solely through the prism of real threats and the historical experience of our people.

During a working visit to Moscow, Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia met with Dmitry Savelyev, State Duma Deputy from the United Russia party, member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, and General Director of the Center for Public Diplomacy. Valeria Manovitskaya, coordinator of the Center's branch in Abkhazia also participated in the meeting.

During his working visit to Russia, Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia participated in the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Khimtsa Gudzhovich Tarba, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and a soldier from Abkhazia who died in 1941 in the Leningrad Region. The ceremony took place at the Michurinskaya Secondary Comprehensive School in the village of Michurinskoye in the Priozersky District of the Leningrad Region.

On May 22, 2018, Ibrahim Avidzba, Plenipotentiary Representative of Abkhazia to Turkey met with the mothers of soldiers who fell in the 1992-1993 Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia and female veterans visiting Turkey as part of the Abkhaz delegation at the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey. The meeting was also attended by members of the delegation: Bastakua Agrba and Astamur Bagatelia, Deputy Chairmen of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Repatriation; Tengiz Ankvab, Deputy Director of the Repatriation Fund; Irina Lasuria, Chief Specialist of the General Department; and Narsou Salakaya, Member of the People's Assembly-Parliament.

The staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by Irakli Tuzhba, Deputy Foreign Minister participated in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Muhajirs on the Sukhum embankment.

A meeting was held in the Russian Federation between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Jesús Rafael Salazar Velázquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Abkhazia at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia.
