The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Kan Tania met with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus (EUSR) Herbert Salber. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Tengiz Tarba and representatives of the EUSR office Bjorn Kuene, Tom Trier and Emmanuel Anquetil.

During the meeting they discussed the situation with crossing of the Abkhaz-Georgian border, in particular, the forthcoming closure of the two check-points Bgoura (Otobaya) and Bataiguara (Nabakevi).

There was also a discussion of a number of environmental issues of regional security, including the fight against box-tree moth and marble bug. They also discussed some of the issues of the agenda of the Geneva discussions.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
